Summary

The document specifies the requirements, test methods and performance criteria for point heat detectors for use in fire detection and fire alarm systems for buildings. For other types of heat detector, or for detectors intended for use in other environmets, this standard should only be used for guidance. Heat detectors with special characteristics and developed for specifiec risks are not covered by this standard.

Notes

DIN EN 54-5 (1989-09), DIN EN 54-6 (1989-09) and DIN EN 54-8 (1989-09) remain valid alongside this standard until 2003-06-01.
