Food hygiene - Sale of perishable foodstuffs from vending machines - Hygiene requirements

Summary

The standard specifies hygiene requirements which provide the conditions to sale perishable foodstuffs using self service vending machines in accordance with the provisions on food hygiene. In this aim the document includes general requirements for handling, cleaning and disinfection of vending machines for disposal of perishable foodstuffs. Furthermore, the document sets specific requirements for the refrigeration and the storage of the products. The standard is not applicable to hot beverage appliances, as for example coffee dispensers. According to hot beverage appliances DIN 10531 is applicable.
