Summary
This European standard is applicable to semi automatic turntable ladders comprising chassis, bodywork and a powered lifting device with or without rescue cage and classified into class 18, 24 or 30. Semi-automatic turntable ladders are principally used for rescuing people, for the execution of technical auxiliary works and for fire-fighting. Among a few technical changes the informative Annex ZB is supplemented, in order to link the connection with the amended machinery directive 2006/42/EC.

DIN EN 14044 (2006-01) remains valid alongside this standard until 2009-12-28.*A transition period, as set out in DIN EN 14044 (2014-04), exists until 2014-07-31.
